Aug 20, 2019 4:10pm EST | National Law Enforcement Museum presents Eagle One: Rescue and Recovery of AirFlorida Flight 90
About this event:
Participants will watch an abridged-recording of a panel discussion between three witness to the historic crash of AirFlorida Flight 90 in the Potomac River on January 13, 1982. A combination of inexperienced piloting and blizzard-like conditions caused the aircraft to strike the nearby 14th Street Bridge and then crash into the icy Potomac River. The panel included retired Metropolitan (DC) Police Department homicide detective Eric Witzig, former US Park Police helicopter pilot Don Usher, and news videographer Chester Panzer. After the watching the video, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about the program and the historic event. This workshop is 60 minute in length.
