Based in Charleston, South Carolina, Live Living Network is dedicated to bringing older adults the best in live interactive educational and entertaining programming from exceptional presenters and organizations, such as museums, art institutes, and other cultural, historic and artistic venues that make up our content partner community.
Our 12-month calendar of programs are offered through a site subscription license to independent and assisted living residences, retirement communities, and senior centers, or to individual members. Programs run 40 to 60 minutes in length and include interactive question and answer capabilities.
We would like to recognize our founding partners, Maplewood Senior Living’s Center for Aging Innovation and Technology and Eversound. The Innovation Center, overseen by Brian Geyser, was launched in September, 2017 to provide Maplewood residents with new and enterprising technologies. We are proud to be adding the Live Living Network™ to their list of innovative new services. Eversound’s ground-breaking group wireless acoustic technology helps older adult communities assists with the effectiveness of our programs and other community activities.
The importance of social interaction and engaging in cultural activities is well-documented in promoting positive health and well-being in older adults. Older adult communities continue to be challenged by finding ways to enhance the overall experience of residents, and often seek to expand and broaden the entertainment and educational options available to their members.
Traveling to off-site locations can add an element of complexity and limit the range of subject-matter that is made available to residents, or it may even discourage or exclude certain residents from participating in an event. With virtual programs, such as those offered in our live streaming calendar, physical proximity is no longer relevant to engagement.
Through our methodology, using high speed Internet access, a computer or tablet and a display, we can make live streaming programs an everyday supplemental activity in older adult communities. Individual programs can then be followed by, or supplemented with, on-site conversation circles, discussion groups, and skill-building classes.
Let’s reinvent what it means to be active.
